WWE Fires NXT Creative Executive Dave Kapoor

June 2024 · 2 minute read

David Kapoor got his start with WWE as the manager of The Great Khali. He had that role from 2007 through 2011 and made a one-off appearance in 2014 when he was known as Ranjin Singh. Kapoor later took on various backstage roles within the company. Now he is no longer with NXT where he served as an influential part of the brand.

Kapoor eventually worked his way to the WWE executive suite. He was promoted to the Senior Vice President of the promotion’s creative team. He held that role since at least 2019.

WWE released David Kapoor earlier today. He becomes the second exec to be let go today. The news was reported by Sean Sapp of Fightful via Twitter.

“Dave Kapoor, the former Ranjin Singh, has been let go from WWE. WWE has confirmed to Fightful”

This is the latest in a string of firings and releases in WWE that dates back over a year. In 2021, approximately 80 wrestlers were fired or released. Several other WWE executives have been let go over that same span.

David Kapoor joins SVP of Consumer Products Sarah Cummins as the second executive to be fired this afternoon. Stan Stanski served as SVP of Creative Services until his ouster in November of 2021. WWE continues their mass firings as they look to increase the company’s bottom line.

William Regal, Road Dogg and Scott Armstrong were also part of today’s surprising cuts to NXT. Keep checking back with Ringside News for more information.
