The Rock Addresses Ava Getting Death Threats Amidst WrestleMania 40 Controversy

June 2024 · 2 minute read

WWE’s decision to replace Cody Rhodes with The Rock in the Wrestlemania 40 match against Roman Reigns led to a ton of backlash and this ended up affecting The Rock’s daughter Ava. Now, The Rock has finally addressed death threats to his daughter.

The Rock confronted Roman Reigns on SmackDown last week after Cody Rhodes confirmed he won’t face Reigns at WrestleMania 40, making it learn he will face Roman Reigns instead.

This brought about a ton of negative reactions from fans and this ended up spilling over to The Rock’s daughter Ava, who got tons of death threats. This led to her deactivating her Twitter altogether.

While speaking on the Pat McAfee show, The Rock addressed the threats and praised her daughter’s recent work ahead before stating that it’s a crazy situation.

“She’s feeling it too [Fan backlash]… Oh yeah, Cody’s gotta finish his story… By the way, she’s also got death threats. It’s crazy… C’mon guys, we’re all in this thing, and by the way, what happens in the middle of the ring and on these storylines, don’t forget that, again inside baseball, outside the ring, we all talk. We all can figure this thing out while working together.”

The Rock already confirmed that he will be competing at WrestleMania 40 and has begun training for his in-ring return. The Rock and Roman Reigns will have face-off at the WrestleMania 40 kickoff event today as well. We will have to wait and see if The Rock will end up beating Roman Reigns at The Showcase of The Immortals.
