Riki Lindhome was born in Coudersport, Pennsylvania on March 5, 1979, and raised in Portville, New York. Her ancestors are mostly Swedish. Lindhome attended Portville High School and graduated in 1997. She attended Syracuse University and majored in communications and film, graduating in 2000. Lindhome won first place in the John F. Kennedy Library’s JFK Profiles in Courage essay contest in 1997. Lindhome’s subject was US Representative Carolyn McCarthy (D-NY), whose outrage over the murder of her husband and five others on a Long Island train by a gunman compelled her to challenge and win the seat held by her congressman, who had voted to repeal the Federal Assault Weapons Ban.

Lindhome began her acting career without an agent, with minor roles on the sitcom Titus and in one season seven episode of the TV series Buffy the Vampire Slayer in 2002. Lindhome joined The Actors’ Gang in 2003 and appeared in the play Embedded. She was one of four cast members from the play in the 2004 film Million Dollar Baby, in which she played Mardell Fitzgerald, Maggie’s sister.

Lindhome made a brief appearance as an unnamed student in a season three episode of Gilmore Girls in 2002, before later appearing as Juliet in the show’s fifth and sixth seasons. She also appeared in the 2006 thriller Pulse and the 2008 crime drama Changeling. In seasons two and ten, she appeared as Ramona Nowitzki, a graduate student who is obsessed with Sheldon Cooper. She appeared as Jeanine in the television series Pushing Daisies and as murder victim Vanessa Holden in Criminal Minds in 2008. In 2009, she played Sadie in The Last House on the Left, a remake of the 1972 horror film of the same name.
