NEW YORK: Jansen Panettiere, brother of Hayden Panettiere, died at the age of 28, according to family sources. He was the 33-year-old actress' only sibling. The 'Nashville' star has not yet addressed her brother's death.

According to a family source, 'The 'Walking Dead' actor died in New York. On Sunday night, February 19, around 5.30 pm, police officers were called to a residence, reported TMZ.

How did Jansen Panettiere die?

Details on Jansen's cause of death have not been revealed yet. As per the news outlet, there is no foul play suspected in his death. Jansen and Hayden were last spotted together last month. Sharing a picture of the siblings on Tuesday, January 24, Jansen shared his haircut done by Hayden and jokingly captioned, "Not the first haircut she's tried to give me." 

On November 4, 2022, Jansen also shared a throwback picture of the siblings from a raft trip. His last post shared on Instagram featured his latest graffiti artwork. 

Born to a former soap opera actress, Lesley R. Vogel, and captain in New York City's Fire Department, Alan Lee Panettiere. The siblings grew up as actors and Jansen followed his 5-year elder sister. As per his IMDb, his last role in cinema was following in the film Love and Love Not. The actor was attached to five different projects at the time of his death.

Jansen Panettiere's life and career

Jansen has done several roles, including Major Crimes, Blue's Clues, The Walking Dead, Ice Age: The Meltdown, Shia LaBeouf's TV show Even Stevens, and Robots. In 2004 and 2005, the siblings worked together on Tiger Cruise and Racing Stripes respectively. He took a recurring role as The X's on Nickelodeon as Truman X. In 2008, For his 'The Last Day of Summer' work, he also received a Young Artis Ward 2018.
