Spence has always been vocal about how his family has been his biggest motivation to get better after he was in a life-threatening car accident. Errol Spence Jr. talks about his children’s mindset when he fights inside the ring

In the recent episode of Hotboxin’ with Mike Tyson, Errol Spence Jr. made an appearance ahead of the biggest fight of his career against 3-division champion Terence Crawford. So, in one of the segments, the co-host, DJ Whoo Kid, asked Spence about how his kids react whenever he’s inside the ring. Do they get worried, or do they cheer him up?

Spence replied that the whole course of action is quite “natural” for his kids. He added, “I could be getting punched in sparring or anything, and it’s like a regular day for them.” DJ Whoo Kid was blown away by this, and he stated that his kids seem to have a boxing mindset already. Then Spence explained that he’s been taking them to his gym since an early age.

He said, “I’d just bring the car seat and drag them in, prop them up by the ring. And they watched me spar, watched me workout, and everything.” So they’re used to everything that happens to him. Mike Tyson, after hearing everything, also stated that his kids used to say, “Daddy’s not happy today,” whenever he used to come back after getting beaten up.
